Membership Application FormsPlease call Membership Director, Casey Hardin, at 810-600-1231 for the current prorated dues/fees. Designated REALTOR® Membership This is the application form that Brokers would submit to FAAR when seeking Membership. There are a number of steps required to complete the application process. Documentation is included with the application form download that explains the process. Your name and the name of your firm will be published in our monthly newsletter and your name and the name of your firm will go before the FAAR Board of Directors for approval of membership. Your attendance at FAAR's New Member Orientation is required within 90 days of application acceptance. Fees are payable at the time of application. FAAR also requests a copy of all licenses held in the new office, including that of the Broker. REALTOR® Membership This is the application form that Agents would submit to FAAR when they join an office that is already a member of the Association. New Agents have ten (10) days from the time they receive their license from the State, to join the Association. At the time of application, all dues and fees are payable. Also, the Association requires a copy of the Agent's license. All new members are required to attend orientation within 90 days of their application being accepted. All new agents will have their name and office name published in the monthly Newsletter and will go before the FAAR Board of Directors for membership approval. Unlicensed Assistant Membership Unlicensed Assistants shall be individuals who do not hold a Real Estate license granted by the State of Michigan. Such individuals may hold a limited membership in the Association without voting rights or other obligations of full membership, but shall be eligible to purchase view only and data entry access into FAAR MLS data and adhere to all rules and regulations as determined by the Board of Directors. At no time shall an Unlicensed Assistant enter a listing in his/her name. All such Unlicensed Assistants of any office, firm company, partnership or corporation must be affiliated with an MLS participant with FAAR MLS to be eligible for access. Affiliate Membership This is the application form that those seeking Affiliate Membership status with the Association would submit. The contact person for an Affiliate Membership can not hold a real estate license or an appraisal license unless also a Member of the Association. All new members will have their name and office name published in the monthly Newsletter and will go before the FAAR Board of Directors for membership approval. MLS-Only Membership This is the application form that a Designated REALTOR® who is a member of a Board or Association (in good standing) and wishes to obtain access to our Multiple Listing Service would submit for approval. Every Agent in the office that holds a valid license will be considered a participant and the Designated REALTOR® is responsible for paying participation fees for each licensee. The Designated REALTOR®, who is not a member of the Flint Area Association of REALTORS®, must supply a letter of "Good Standing" from his/her Primary Board with a list of all licensees held under his/her license. Additional MLS Only Documents: Licensed Appraiser Membership This is the application form that a Licensed Appraiser would use when wishing to join the Flint Area Association of REALTORS® and obtain access to our Multiple Listing Service. Every Appraiser in the office that holds a valid license would also have to join as an Affiliate Member. All applicants will have their name and office name published in our monthly Newsletter and will go before the FAAR Board of Directors for membership approval. Life Membership Life members shall be individuals who are retired and who wish to remain in active contact with the Association. Life members are so designated following formal application and final approval from the Board of Directors. Special consideration may be given to other individuals, who are not retired, based on their age and years of service to the Association totaling 85 years or more. Other Important Membership DocumentsWhen two agents wish to form a team, the following document must be submitted to the FAAR Membership Director so that appropriate accounts may be created in the MLS.
